What inspired you to write “Legacy”?
Reace: My family and I love to read but we often don’t find stories with characters that remind us of us. So I write it.
How did you come up with the names of your main characters?
Reace: I wanted my character's names to be unique and as original as possible. So I took the attributes of each character and researched a name that would represent them.
Is there anything that you want readers to know about you, your writing process or your book?
Reace: I would love for readers to know that Legacy is a work of love that has yet to disappoint.
If "Legacy" was adapted into a movie, who would you like to see cast to play your lead characters?
Reace: Oh that is easy, Raine, would be played by Bryce Dallas Howard. Xolani, would be Donald Glover. The kids Keon and Niya would be played by Lonnie Chavis and Storm Reid.
Are there any tips that you would like to share with other aspiring authors?
Reace: It’s easy to get discouraged if things aren’t going the way you expect. But if you have a story to tell, don’t let anything or anyone stop you from sharing it.
When you encounter writer’s block, what do you do to break yourself out of it?
Reace: Honestly, I try a combination of things. First I may watch TV or a movie. And if that doesn’t work I start writing on other works in progress that I maybe doing at the time. And usually that does the trick for me. (Most of the time)
What is your favorite genre, book, and/or author?
Reace: By far, self help books. Don’t get me wrong, I love a lot of different genres but I love to know I’m working on being better today than I was yesterday.
What are you working on next?
Reace: I am currently finishing up the first draft to the sequel of Legacy and a spicy action adventure novel for those adults that love vampires.
