Heather’s Bookshelf: Author Interview with Joanne Alain Cook
What inspired you to write “Little Devil”?
Cook: The setting inspired Little Devil. There is a mansion on the Sacramento River with a guest cottage on stilts. Large Oak trees are on the grounds and an owl lives in one of the trees. My husband's brother lives in the guest cottage.
Is there anything that you want readers to know about you, your writing process or your book?
Cook: 80% of my writing process occurs in my head for months before a word ever makes it to paper.
When you encounter writer’s block, what do you do to break yourself out of it?
Cook: I read a book!
What is your favorite genre, book, and/or author?
Cook: I love thrillers with romance. Anne Rice has always been a favorite of mine.
What are you working on next?
Cook: I'm working on book 3 of my SACtown Mystery collection (Prima Donna). This one will occur at Sacramento State's Capistrano Hall and be a very loose reflection of the Phantom of the Opera.
