Heather’s Bookshelf: Author Interview with Jeffrey Turner
What inspired you to write “Seeds of the Dead”?
Turner: I generally favored most zombie movies, games, etc. When I started my career as an author I wanted to test my skills in storytelling. So, I decided to write a great story during a zombie apocalypse.
Is there anything that you want readers to know about you, your writing process, or your book?
Turner: Not so much about me. My goal when creating these stories is to emotionally invoke my readers. Rather the story upsets you, brings joy, or sadness, I will always feel accomplished knowing a reader felt a connection to the story.
Turner: Never give up. You've only failed once you do. Some may not like your work...it's okay. There are books you will not like either. Keep writing for the people who enjoy your work, more importantly, keep writing for you!
What is your favorite book, genre, and/or author?
Turner: Think and Grow Rich by Napoleon Hill changed my life and its philosophy so I must say it's my favorite book. However, James Baldwin is my favorite author. Not only are his books classics, his intelligence and perspective of life is easily understood when he speaks. Seeing this open-minded person inspired me to follow my dreams.
What are you working on next?
Turner: I'm working on a book titled Before We're Gone. The story follows a military veteran with PTSD, who is spending the last few days of his daughter's life with her, before she dies from cancer.
