Heather’s Bookshelf: Author Interview with Neil Gordon
What inspired you to write “Tony Accardo is Joe Batters”?
Gordon: I met Tony Accardo's illegitimate son Stephen who was renovating my great/uncle's house in Nova Scotia. I asked to write his father's story and he agreed. My dad wrote numerous novels on Carribean intrigue so I used his guidance.
How did you come up with the names of your main characters?
Gordon: All names are factual.
Is there anything that you want readers to know about you, your writing process or your book?
Gordon: I worked 30 hours a week for ten years to research, write, and edit my book. I have a partner Jessica who fabricated the art and formatted the book for Amazon, Kindle, B&N, and Audible.
What is your favorite book, genre, and/or author?
Gordon: Since The Godfather premiered in 1972, I've been hooked on the Mafia genre. My personal preference is Ernest Hemmingway. I can't imagine writing on an old old Royal portable typewriter, his genius escapes me.
What are you working on next?
Gordon: A true account of the pitfalls of the meat industry called "Hell Boss."
