Heather’s Bookshelf: The House of Wynne Lift
“The House of Wynne Lift” introduces Professor Foster Livingston and reporter Peter Wylie as they seek to unravel a the mystery of what happened to Wynne Lift.
Overall, I enjoyed this novella. It is fast-paced and moves along swiftly, even for a novella. The tone of the novel is also intriguing and leads you into wanting more. The two main characters of Livingston and Wylie provide an interesting balance as they do not exactly get along, but must work together in the end. Lift is also just odd enough in the beginning of the story to keep you guessing. But as the story evolves, there’s a lack of connection to the main characters and thus a lack of urgency about what happens to them. The ending seemed a little abrupt and maybe a little premature, but still satisfying and complete.
I received a copy of this story in exchange of a fair and honest review.
OVERALL REVIEW:
A fast-paced novella filled with intrigue but lacking a little in connection to the main characters
