“She hadn’t quite been on the Grinch’s level, but she was feeling down and out when she first arrived home, and somehow the magic of the season had turned it around.”

“Mr. Christmas” follows Leann, a young and successful writer, who finds herself returning home for the holidays. Leann usually loves the holidays, but this year she returns home after a killer breakup with her fiancé. To make matters worse, her aging father, has recently injured himself while trying to work on his annual neighborhood Christmas light display. Leann and her sister try to convince their injury prone father to give up the tradition for his health and safety, but he has other plans.

Leann’s homecoming also brings her face-to-face with her ex-boyfriend, Andy, for the first time in two years. Leann quickly learns that a lot has changed while she’s been away, including her. She finds herself swept up in the magic of Christmas, but will she also get swept up in the power of love?

Overall, I enjoyed this adorable short story about love and Christmas. It was just the thing to put me in the holiday mindset. There was just something about it that made me want to cozy up next to a fire with a cup of hot cocoa. My favorite character was “Mr. Christmas” himself whose spirit and love for all things Christmas jumped off the page and into my heart. The romance itself was sweet, but the story was so short that it made it challenging to truly buy in to these two as soulmates and the abrupt ending perpetuated this feeling for me.

I received a copy of this story in exchange of a fair and honest review.

OVERALL REVIEW:

I enjoyed this sweet little tale about Christmas romance. Pretty straight forward story, but cute and cozy all the same.
